What Are You Teaching?

 

We often hear today that we are living in the ‘Laodicean’ Age. The church of Laodicea is mentioned in Revelation 3 as the church that resides in the in-between.

Christ, speaking through John said:

 

I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.

Revelation 3:15

 

The truth of the matter is that the lukewarm Christian can actually do more to prevent the spreading of God’s Good News than can the nonbeliever. Allegiance to Christ means discipleship. It means that we serve as his representatives here on earth. How we comport & the words we speak must align with what we claim to believe. Above all, we are obligated to demonstrate charity consistently & in all things. When under stress, we are further obligated to speak faith, hope & love, rather than fear, doubt & oppression. People are listening & scrutinizing the power & value of the Christian life in everything they see us express. Never forget, speaking about God is often a less powerful form of ministry than simply living the hope like you really believe in it.
